April 7-10, 2022 Budapest
Times New Román performs 20th century folk music cultivated in Serbian, Hungarian and Romanian cities – and they do so with a tongue-in-cheek attitude that only brilliant young musicians can pull off. They honor the masters of urbanized Eastern Europe by capturing the essence of Gypsy music seeping through the walls of smokey Budapest apartment buildings. The music of Times New Román fills the listener with sweet nostalgia for the living, breathing musical heritage that has inevitably become a familiar part of urban life. See Times New Román perform on the Budapest Ritmo showcase stage, alongside cherry picked fresh talent from the world of world music.
The showcase programme consists of 45-minute performances by jury-selected up and coming world music artists and performers. Entry to the showcase concerts is free of charge.
